Gay anime japanese
For the uninitiated, BL anime or Yaio are explicit. BL fans used to watching edited and censored stuff are fairly warned. From a list of 55 Japanese BL anime titles, I’m narrowing it down to my favorite 12.
Ranking guide: Basically entertainment value is tops, character training, storyline (of course), the animation itself and technical stuff including music. Some controversial issues may be part of certain series included on this list.

#12 – The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window – さんかく窓の外側は夜 (2021)
The Story:
Shy bookstore clerk Kosuke Mikado has the ability to watch ghosts and spirits, an ability he wishes he didn’t have since what he sees usually terrifies him. Rihito Hiyakawa, an exorcist whose supernatural powers are as robust as his social graces are frail, doesn’t seem to fear anything, mortal or otherwise. When this odd couple gets together to solve the bizarre cases that advance their way, their work methods may not be entirely safe for work!
My Take:
Murder mystery, suspense, supernatural and some romantic interludes! This is not your usual BL anime due to its plot, yet very intriguing and qui
Anime is one of Japan’s prized latest cultural treasures, and despite its political stance on Homosexual rights, Japan has a number of fantastic queer anime in its repertoire. Among the array of gay anime, here are our top picks of must-see series to add to your watch list.

Given
Run, don’t walk to your nearest screen to watch this series. Given has everything: a teenage coming-of-age story, dreamy player boys and a fantastic soundtrack. There’s also the sweetest, slow-burn and sometimes heartbreaking romance between two boys who are learning about themselves, how they navigate grief and how they trial love. This series is sure to make just about anyone have a satisfying cry in its ninth episode. It also has a sequel motion picture which centers around the two command boys’ bandmates, though it’s admittedly a little rushed and not nearly as good as this 11-episode series.

Yuri!!! on Ice
This one is so popular and will probably finish up on every LGBTQ+ anime list, but it’s classic for a reason. Yuri!!! on Ice follows Yuri, an ice skater who has hit rock bottom in his career. He then meets his idol Victor, who mentors him.

A newer BL anime that I’m absolutely in love with! It’s charming, the story is just so adorable and all of the characters are likeable and pleasant. It’s an interesting time and I think it deserves the world.
TV, 2019, 11 eps Me:-Author:9
This show is a hurricane of emotions and romance and it’s one of the best modern BL in the genre. If Kure into BL this is a must see for you.
Show, 2020, 1 ep Me:-Author:8
This is Akihiko’s and Haruki’s period to shine and get some things that were weighing them down behind them. It’s a well needed addition to the series.
TV, 2008, 12 eps Me:-Author:8
An older demonstrate but a good one, I’d say that there are a lot of controversial problems with this series so you were warned. However, the main couple I find are adorable.

This series is a lot of fun and is written by the same person who did Junjou Romantica. It’s a less problematic series in my opinion but it’s still has some dubious consent. I
From my memory, it always felt like BL anime existed as a genre for as long as I can remember. Before BL dramas or movies became mainstream, BL animes and mangas were fancy the first frontier, depicting male romances in fiction even when it was taboo in society.
In anime, the BL genre is closely related to yaoi or shounen ai, which are labels that explain a very similar type of story. Yaoi is more explicit, shounen ai is more innocent, and BL tends to be the best of both worlds. This genre is a popular niche among certain demographics. I don't love using the legal title fujoshi, which has somewhat negative connections. Let's just say that people with good taste usually monitor BL animes!
Despite its drawn-out history, there is surprisingly not a lot of anime to watch in this genre. Trust me, I've done my study on this topic, searching high and low for some BL anime recommendations. You'd be amazed and disappointed at how small the selection there is compared to all the other genres.
And since the selection is so little, this makes it even harder for a superb anime series to enter along. As rare as they may be, there're still some excellent options. BL Watcher has consumed them all and
