Yesterday was British performer Tom Hardy’s birthday, and the gays celebrated it in the only way we know how: by posting sexy photos of the actor and fondly recalling his queer arc.

You might be asking yourself: linger, what gay arc? Which proves you have not been paying attention! Tom Hardy has been out here talking about his sexuality for years now, and though most of his juicier comments came out in 2010, the North remembers. Oh, how it remembers.

And let’s not forget Hardy’s admission that he “Bismarked” his Stuart: A Life Backwards costar Benedict Cumberbatch on set.

While Hardy says that his gay sex-having days are in the past, we can still dream…and remember…

I made a list of some Tom Hardy movies and I rated them based on my retain, non-specific criteria about what makes a movie queer. Results below the cut.

(Some films not included, because I haven’t watched them yet, because Mr Hardy’s only in them for a not many minutes, because the subject matter doesn’t lend itself to this list, or because I just don’t want’em here. TV series also not included. The list is organised into both groups and ratings, because I’m doing The Most.)

Disclaimer: This list is subjective. Don’t come at me because I didn’t rate Inception higher, Nolan himself is as queer as cargo shorts. 

1. This movie would make more sense if it were queer

If this movie were lgbtq+ it… might not become a flawless film all of a sudden, but it’d make a hell of a lot more instinct than what’s actually going on. With an occasional dose of “are the cis-straights okay?”
