Chicago's own Johnny V 'extremely flattered' to co-host Grabbys Award Show

Johnny V went to his first Grabby Award Present about five or six years ago, and left with two awards: Hottest Bottom and Leading Duo Performance, with Ryan Rose.

"It felt good to embrace the award with him on stage, standing side by side," he said.

Flash-forward to 2019 – Johnny V and Ryan Rose will again be front and center at the annual event that highlights highest talent and performances in the lgbtq+ erotic film industry. The Grabbys will be held Saturday, May 25, at the Metro Theater (3730 N. Clark Street).

The co-hosts are Beaux Banks, Calvin Banks, Ryan Rose and Johnny V.

"I am looking forward to the 2019 Grabbys. I am extremely flattered (to be a co-host) and very much appreciate this opportunity," said Johnny V, 35, who lives in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. "(It is) truly an honor (to co-host); I am happy and very excited to be a part of (the event).

Chicago resident Johnny V honored at 2019 Grabby Award Show

Johnny V earned a spot on the Grabbys Wall of Fame earlier this summer – and he promptly dedicated the honor to the late Mark Nagel.

"Without him and Stacy Bridges, this (award) would not be possible," said Johnny V, a Chicago resident who was recognized in late-May at the annual Grabby Award Present, held to underline top talent and performances in the gay erotic movie industry.  The Grabbys is held in Chicago, and Johnny V was one of this year's co-hosts.

The awards are sponsored by Chicago-based Grip Magazine and Grab co-founder Nagel passed away suddenly on Feb. 4. He was 57.

"I establish out (about the honor) at the award show after fulfilling my duties as a co-host," he said.  "It was announced on stage at the award ceremony (and) I was overjoyed when I heard the news.  I was not expecting it at all."
